INGENUITY  Halifax MP Megan Leslie's daring attire turned heads on Parliament Hill.  Dawning a so'wester (maritime fisher hat) in caucus meetings, in the House, and while being interviewed, Megan highlighted her commitment to turning the tide of AIDS in Africa.

COURAGE  Heather dared to bungee jump off the Victoria Falls in Zambia, while working in partnership with a local school for children orphaned by AIDS.  The drop was a stunning 111 metres straight down, and despite being terrified, she made the leap!

DETERMINATION  The FitClub members dared to meet their personal fitness objectives over a 3-month period, and at the same time, raised awareness about the health challenges that face millions of young people around the world. 


Lululemon Athletica

STRENGTH IN COMMUNITY  The staff at Lululemon Athletica in Banff, Alberta challenged one another to "Dare to Do One Thing a Day That Scares You"  and to perform their Dare during the week of the challenge. Some individual Dares included: eating no wheat for a month; going vegan for a week; doing 100 consecutive sun salutations in the Lululemon store; and working as a human mannequin in the store window for a day!

INGENUITY  Lily and her Katimavik friends worked hard to perfect their dance steps.  During the Dare to Remember Week, the Charlottetown-based group performed Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' dance all over the city.

DETERMINATION  The Positive Women's Network is committed to action and leadership on women and HIV/AIDS. The staff dared themselves to climb the twelve flights of stairs to their office rather than "take the easy route" and use the elevator.
